our new pattern, the Meelup skirt! – Handmade by Carolyn

Good morning! Cassie and I are very excited to announce the release of the latest addition to our Carolyn & Cassie Pattern Co family; please welcome to Meelup skirt!

above; a Meelup B view that I made last year; in a superb cotton ticking purchased from Ikuntji Artists… it's a skirt that never fails to attract admiring comments, which is very nice!

The Meelup is a pattern that I refined from my own skirt block a while ago now, and have subsequently made over and over again; playing with the details… yes, like our Pinjarra twinset from earlier this year, it’s definitely a tried and true style that we both wear all year round, for all occasions. I guess you could say this year was the Carolyn & Cassie year of reliable basics 🙂

The Meelup pattern is a fitted straight skirt in two lengths, with a belt and sufficiently deep slanted pockets on the hips.

The skirt does not require a zip! instead, ingeniously fastened buttons on the left hip pocket. This just happens to be my favorite feature of the pattern. Well, maybe right behind the pockets, maybe, which are really decent pockets if I do say so myself. The silhouette is slim, but you'll find that you still have enough room to comfortably slip your hands into the pockets without issue.

style a little more summer like

You can double the skirt if you wish; We have provided separate pattern pieces for the lining, and the instructions also cover making the lined skirt and the unlined skirt. I have made both lined and unlined versions myself, but mostly lined for their versatility.

The new Meelup is now listed in our Etsy store here. To celebrate the release of our new model, we are offering a special celebration offer of 20% off for one week only. In fact, we're currently offering 20% off ALL of our designs, because why not… I guess we're just feeling it this weekend! Please enjoy and take advantage of this special price!

And we hope the Meelup becomes as much of a beloved and widely used item in your sewing repertoire as it has become for us!
