We're slowly working to expand the size of a selection of our existing Tessuti styles and here's the latest: the Kate Top. Originally released eight years ago, this sewing pattern continues to provide everything we want in a woven tank top.
The model includes two options. View A (above) is a slip-on design with a scoop neckline. View B (below) has a higher neckline with a keyhole back. Both styles feature exposed binding on the armholes and neckline.
It may be basic, but the Kate top offers all the qualities we love in a garment. It's effortless, practical and completely timeless. The photo below was included in our original Kate Top blog post from 2015 and shows Margot wearing it with our Robbie pants model. Eight years later and it still looks SO GOOD!
In all these other photos, Anna is posing in the Kate Top with our new model. Jensen pants pattern and what a beautiful combination of patterns they make. We used a contrasting 633 Gütermann Couture All thread to highlight the split hem detail.
The images below show the different rear views.
And does it look good on a print? You bet. Kate loves Liberty Tana Lawn and any fabulous, bold print, as seen in these two blog post photos from 2015 below (both fabrics have long been sold out).
Worn alone or layered under jackets and cardigans, this style of top pairs perfectly with pants, jeans, shorts and skirts. Recommended fabrics for the Kate top include: light has AVERAGE weight of laundry or linen blendscottons, Liberty Tana lawnsviscose and silks.
The model is now available in (Australian) sizes 6-16 and 16-22 and is now available in paper version and PDF in workshop/print at home version. UK/EU customers can purchase designs or packaging from our French Tessuti model website.
