Citrine goes wonderfully with my other designs, like Cleo And Trill, and Ruby, and today I want to feature Amy's fun Citrine outfits that she brought to the studio last month for our Citrine photoshoot – she made all of these pieces herself. I was so thrilled when she showed me all of these – I love how she coordinated them perfectly to create a mini Citrine capsule wardrobe – as if they were designed to be worn together!
I met Amy Cameron (@modernpearlco on Instagram) many years ago, when I organized sewing evenings in my workshop (mental note: put them back on the calendar!!). Recently, she helped me test my new designs early in the pattern development process. Because she's local and works just a few blocks from my studio, she can stop by to try on samples so I can refine the pattern pieces before they're sent to testers. Amy is also an avid dress sewer and once she gets her hands on the pattern pieces, she often sews several versions for herself. Amy is surrounded by a force field of contagious joy; she's positive and hilarious and our photo shoots (she also modeled Ruby for our relaunch last summer) are always a lot of fun.
Amy is a passionate advocate for more inclusive pattern sizing and an ambassador for plus size sewing. She always encourages me to spread the word about our expanded sizes more. I am very grateful to him for helping us with the fit testing and modeling of the models.
