sewing: I finished a fun hot pink jumpsuit (a WIP of 2021) in Merchant and Mills linen purchased from Oak fabrics just in time to take it to the Eras tour (Clémentine: “We're both going as Lover.” Me: “OK?” IYKYK). I also enjoyed sewing the Top Joanie, which is the latest pattern from my friend Meg from Sew Liberated. I love the shawl collar and think it will be perfect for a family road trip we have planned for later this summer.
listen: I cannot recommend Wiser than me with Julia Louis Dreyfus enough. What a great interviewer she is and what a guest list!! Can't pick a favorite episode…maybe Carol Burnett?
knitting: I am currently working on two knitting projects. One is the Spring Sorrel Sweater by Wool and Pine (using Noro de Filé) and although my photo above only shows the yoke, I'm in the process of detaching the body now and will be moving into sleeve territory soon.
The other is the Fizz collar by Barker Wool. I was intrigued by the assigned pooling technique, and when I saw the Seated ballerina color of Madelinetosh x Barker Yarn at Spun, I took it and enjoyed learning this new-to-me technique (shown below) through the pattern.
while reading: Two books by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Malibu on the rise And Carrie Soto is back (Daisy Jones and the Six was my first TJR read, which is also a good thing), and while both are great fluffy summer reads, I'd recommend Carrie Soto if you had to choose just one . I couldn't put it down…I think I finished it in less than 24 hours.
gardening: I do not wanna talk about it.
purchases: Luckily I have huge feet, so there was a huge selection of Birks on sale at our house. local town center of Birkenstockthe summer sales. I chose a rather practical navy pair (below) rather than a bright blue suede pair which I still think about from time to time, but sometimes you have to make the right choice.
cooking: I made a one-pot Chicken orzo with spinach and artichokes Again. But this time our power was out due to the aforementioned torrential storm and so I had to cook it on the gas stove rather than in the oven and completely and as far as I know, irreparably burned the bottom of the oven. beautiful new red Dansk casserole dish I got it for Christmas. Well, it's just bullshit as they say. But if you have any tips for cleaning it, share them in the comments.
Cut: My hair is back to pink and bangs again!
