Friday Faves / vol. 21 — Made by Rae

sewing: Lots of sewing projects in various states of completion lately: a Trillium in a colorful plaid (I hope I will have finished it for Squam in a few weeks!), a fun emerald striped top (more pics in this Stripe-Matching-How-To post), and nearly finished Luna pants, also in the stripes.

listen: I know I'm late to Brandi Carlile's game, but I came across her Grammy performance from The joke And Just in time on YouTube and it was like, WOW, where was I? So yeah, a lot of Brandi in the playlist rotation these days.

The Armchair Expert podcast is such a frequent listen to me that I almost forget to mention it, but the Terry Crews And Minka Kelly the interviews were both phenomenal. I don't always stay for the Fact Check as it often lasts a long time, but Monica and Dax are fun to listen to and their interviews are really entertaining and vulnerable (any Armcherries there?).

knitting: Yay! I finished my Sparkling hood! And then I quickly mailed it to Elli, whose birthday was yesterday. Happy birthday, ElI! *does Kermit's arms*

while reading: I posted that I had just finished my first Inspector Gamache novel (A world of curiosities) on Insta the other day and Louise Penny fans COME FOR ME in my DMs. If you're the Louise Penny type, you know that by breaking the canon and starting with the 18th book rather than the first, I've now irreparably disrupted the space-time continuum. At least I shouldn't have posted about it!! everyone knows it's best to keep those wrinkles of time a secret!! Read also A gentleman in Moscow (touching!) of Amor Towles and Romantic comedy (fluffy! fun!) by Curtis Sittenfeld and both were excellent.

watching: We've been a pretty cinematic family lately. Barbie, which of course was awesome, and Oppenheimer, which was meh (even for that former physics teacher), and then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which I haven't seen but my boys (9, 16, and 45) all loved it. If you're like me, you've probably read a million thoughts on Barbie by now, but may I suggest this fun behind-the-scenes look. Barbie Dreamhouse Tour from AD?

xx,
Rae
