Find this model: Barbie – The folding line

I don't think we've EVER received so many requests to find my pattern before! So I went to the movies and immersed myself in the world of Barbie so I could look up outfit designs in the movie. I have to say that I personally loved the film, it was a feast for the eyes, the script was brilliant and Ryan Gosling was epic. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it, and it took me back to the days of my own Barbie Dreamhouse. If you wanted to know a little more about how the decor was made, this video tour on Architectural summary was fantastic. As a creator, I loved learning about the scaling of accessories, how things were made, and how true to the toy it was.

Enough rambling on my part… shall we talk about models? Below is the video showing you all the models I researched alongside the pictures.

This cowgirl look was amazing and she wore it for a good portion of the movie. This outfit would be a great costume for a fancy dress party or Halloween. Patterns that I think would work well for these are the Fiber Mood Vivienve Vest for the top. The pants of the McCalls 8369 are another good option and note the seat detail at the waist.

As the Barbies set to work trying to take back their world, they all wore these fantastic pink jumpsuits. I have two great options for you that both work well. If you like slimmer legs, opt for the Our Lady of Leisure Gimlet. For something with a wider leg than McCall's 8243. Both have a button front and tie waist.

This was one of my favorite scenes in the White House…um, the Pink House. These super fun costumes with a bit of a Chanel twist as they were made from a Boucle fabric.

I found some great patterns for these looks. First of all, the new version from Bella Loves Patterns with the Freddie jacket, it's such a classic shape. For the complete look of McCall's 8370, this one comes with the skirt and jacket included. For a more modern version, opt for the Bryce short jacket from Vikisews. For something with a little less structure, choose the Heather Blazer from Friday Pattern Company.

As Barbie leaves Barbie World, you can't help but swoon over this dress she wore in the car. I spent so much time looking for a perfect match but I think Simplicity 1459 could be suitable. If you like to look for a vintage pattern, the Simplicity 3581 has a double-breasted bodice and the collar can be tailored.

Ken…. ahhh Ken. There were some incredible outfits. The fur coat with the horses on the lining was out of this world. It looked like a classic look to him and to many others Ken and I thought the Simplicity 9758 was perfect. Also…I loved that it was pink!

Slumber party! Girls night out wouldn't be complete without some fantastic pajamas and I thought the Nina Lee Picadilly set was similar to the bottom image. The Closet Core Carolyn would be perfect for the image above…just add Maribou to the sleeves and hem.

Let's be honest, Weird Barbie looks great and this big sleeve pink number was my favorite. The Fiber Mood Judy dress matches almost perfectly. Add tulle at the head of the sleeves to add more drama to the sleeves!

I had to include this dress because it's featured in a lot of promotional images and to be honest it looks stunning. The Burda 6343 smelled like a closet with the large pleats in the skirt, but the Simplicity 9738 would also work well.

Last but not least, the Barbie party…. this combination was SO good. I searched a lot for a strapless jumpsuit and to be honest, I struggled a bit. These are the best of the bunch, but if you have a suggestion, let me know. McCall's 8101 features a wide leg and the 8360 is a narrower fit.

We really hope you enjoyed this and we will be back soon.
